Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to Inselly.com (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website and read our blog (collectively, the “Services”).

The short version: we collect nothing you type, and nothing at all unless you agree to it. Inselly’s Instagram calculators and account audit have been switched off. There is no form to fill in, no account to create, no payment to make and no newsletter to join. What remains is measurement of how the site is used — and that only runs if you accept it.

2. Information We Collect

Nothing you provide, because there is nothing to provide. There is no form, no sign-up, no login and no purchase anywhere on this site. We do not collect your email address, your name, your payment details or an Instagram handle, because there is nowhere to enter them.

If you accept cookies, Google Analytics — loaded through Google Tag Manager — records standard usage information: the pages you visit, roughly where in the world you are, the type of device and browser you use, and how you arrived. This is used to understand which articles people read. It is not used to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else.

If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics identifiers are stored and no measurement cookies are set. One technical honesty note: the Google tag itself still loads, running in Google’s “consent denied” mode. In that mode it may send Google a cookieless signal that a page was viewed — carrying no identifier, no cookie and nothing that singles you out — which Google uses only for aggregate modelling. If even that is more than you want, a content blocker stops the tag entirely and the site works exactly the same without it.

We run no session recording, no heatmaps and no advertising retargeting. Earlier versions of this site used PostHog, including session replay; that was removed along with the services it supported.

3. Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. This site uses two kinds, and the difference matters:

  • A cookie that records your choice. When you accept or decline on the banner, we store that decision so we do not ask again on every page. It contains only your answer.
  • Analytics cookies, only after you accept. These are set by Google Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are read.

Nothing is stored before you choose. The site uses Google Consent Mode: the Google tag starts with analytics and advertising storage denied (only the consent-mode machinery’s own functional and security state is treated as allowed — it sets no tracking cookie). If you decline, or close the banner without answering, storage stays denied and no analytics cookies are ever written.

To change your mind at any time, use the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of every page — it reopens this choice with one click. Withdrawing consent also removes the analytics cookies that were set while it stood.

4. How We Use Your Information

Only to understand which articles are read and how people find them, so we know what is worth keeping online. We do not build profiles of individuals, we do not contact visitors, we do not advertise to you, and we have nothing to sell.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. Two companies process data on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare hosts this site and handles the technical requests needed to deliver a page to your browser. This is how any website works.
  • Google provides Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, and processes the usage data described above — but only if you have accepted.

We share nothing with anyone else.

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities. In practice we hold nothing that could be disclosed.

6. Data Retention

We hold no visitor data ourselves. Analytics data, where you have consented to it, is retained by Google according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics. Your consent cookie lasts a year, after which the banner asks again.

7. Data Security

We use administrative, technical and physical measures to protect the systems that serve this site, and the site is served exclusively over an encrypted connection. Please be aware that no security measure is perfect, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against interception or misuse. The strongest protection here is structural: data that is never collected cannot be exposed.

8. Your Data Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data held about you: the right to access it, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form.

These rights apply to us as they do to anyone. In practice we hold no records that identify you: we store nothing ourselves, and if you never accepted cookies there is no analytics data about you either. You are welcome to ask, and to have that confirmed in writing — write tocontact@inselly.com.

The simplest way to stop all measurement is to decline on the banner, or to clear this site’s cookies and decline next time.

9. International Data Transfers

This site is delivered through a global content network, so the servers that send you a page may be located outside your country. Where you have consented to analytics, Google may process that data outside your country under its own safeguards. Data protection law in those countries may differ from that in your own.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — and, as set out above, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any change will be published on this page with a new effective date. If we ever begin collecting more than is described above, we will say so here before we start, not afterwards.
